I know that you should not sell pirated material. That’s the stupidest thing you can do. However, what about copying a cd for a friend (sharing), and getting fined $67,000? What do you think about this situation? Well my views are that as long as no profit is made on the downloading end, the big greedy companies should leave us (especially the middle class!) alone.
Remember, real pirates don’t steal, they share!

I am a musician and a record label owner, and honestly don’t see what the huge deal is with all of this.
The bottom-line facts are that the internet has completely changed how this business works. One must adapt, or die.
I don’t rely on CD sales at all, however, the ease with which free downloadable music can be used to promote, say, a live concerts, drives up the revenues made from those endeavors. Like crazy.
I will always advocate the idea of getting something for nothing- it just makes sense.
Are you both communist?
